L-ARAL Project
Lasallian Accessible, Relevant and Alternative Learning
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) explicitly pointed out that “Everyone has the right to education,” through Article 26 of the 1948. Likewise, the Sustainable Development Goals, being a global platform of development of the United Nations has significantly highlighted the need to “Ensure Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education and Promote Lifelong Learning Opportunities for All (SDG #4).” In recognition of these, the De La Salle University Manila through the Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA) has developed the Lasallian Accessible, Relevant, and Alternative Learning (ARAL) Component under the University-Community Engagement and Development Program. L-ARAL is a positive response to the challenge of having an inclusive and equitable education in the country that promotes lifelong learning through a multi-sectoral development approach.
- Putting in place a full learning year (10 months) implementation of the ALS Program with a Post-A & E Exam mechanism to sustain learning process.
- Setting-up an inclusive and equitable mechanism to integrate continuing education and scholarship opportunities.
- Establishing an innovative mechanism that will lead to capacitating of Empowered Lasallian Youth (ELYs) to livelihood and social enterprise opportunities.
