LASALLIAN SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

ADVOCACY AND ADULT FORMATION

Guided by the DLSU CE framework (2011), LSD partners with academic and non-academic units of the University in implementing community engagement projects that seek to improve the lives of people, especially the poor. It accomplishes this by facilitating collaboration among DLSU Units, People’s Organizations, Non-Government Organizations, Local Government Units and other like-minded institutions in each marginalized community it partners with.

LSD’s major initiative is the implementation of the SDG Localization Project in two key communities: a) Barangays in District V – Manila (Urban) and the b) Coastal Community of Lian, Batangas (Rural). The SDG Localization Project seeks to contribute towards the achievement of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in each community. It focuses on four key components that are aligned with the strengths and priorities of the university.
