Graduate Degree Programs
Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering (PhD-IE)
The Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering program aims to prepare the student to undertake independent and supervised research work with a strong emphasis on the analysis and design of industrial engineering systems such as manufacturing and service systems, intervention and improvement technologies, holistic man-machine interactions, sustainable industrial ecology system, among others. The perspective is a deeper view of strategy, systems, human-computer interactions and life cycle systems, among others.
Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (MS IE)
The Master of Science in Industrial Engineering degree is oriented towards a higher-level career in industrial engineering that focuses on the selection, use and implementation of IE tools and techniques in both practical and theoretical IE work. The program covers advanced fields of study such as supply chain management, total quality environmental management and higher level systems modeling, among others. At the end of the program, the graduate student is prepared to undertake independent research his chosen topic in manufacturing and service systems or human factors systems, typically following rigorous methodologies.
Master of Engineering Program (MEng IE)
The Master of Engineering Program major in Industrial Engineering program seeks to formally prepare non-IEs, who are involved in industrial engineering and management work, for a career in IE. Our MEP program involves basic IE courses that are designed to deal with higher level and system wide industrial and business applications. These courses are complemented by the practicum with special project, which aims to train the students to apply theories and methods learned in class to real problems in industry.
