COSCA Relief Bulletin No. 7 (7 January 2015)
AY2014-2015
Fire broke out in Brgy. Apolonio Samson, Quezon City last January 1, 2015 razing 800 houses to the ground. The 6-hour fire left 4 dead and approximately 2,000 families are now temporarily residing at the nearby covered basketball courts, public schools and other facilities.
Some of the residents have returned to their burned houses to scavenge available materials to start rebuilding their homes. Others opted to stay outside these evacuation centers due to overcrowding. Most survivors are still waiting for provision of relief goods and emergency assistance.
