Lecture Series 2020: Modifying Earthquake Response Of Structures Using Anti Seismic Devices (MODES CPD)
February 22, 2020
Structures must be designed and constructed to minimize the damaging impact of earthquake ground motion. The MODES CPD Lecture aims to inform the participants on various strategies of improving the seismic behavior and performance of structures by modifying the dynamic and structural properties of the structures. Among the strategies that will be presented are seismic retrofitting methods using external frames and BRB and anti-seismic devices like Base Isolators and Dampers.

2019
Seminar on Engineering Our Heritage Structures (EnHeriT2019)
October 25, 2019
Heritage structures are exposed and vulnerable to environmental loads such as seismic events. In this workshop an understanding of the process of a conservation management plan (CMP) related to historical structures will be discussed. Seismic vulnerability and hazards assessment that is needed for a CMP and design will also be discussed. Understanding the importance of condition and safety assessment of heritage structures will also be covered.
