W-DARE Co-Investigator Honored During 2014 Faculty Research Recognition
Former SDRC Director and W-DARE Co-Investigator Jesusa M. Marco was honored during the Annual Faculty Research Recognition ceremonies sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation and the University Research Coordination Office on September 26, 2014 at the Henry Sy, Sr. Hall.
Celebrated as a retired faculty member whose works have contributed to the enrichment of the DLSU research culture, Dr. Marco was noted to have held several administrative positions—the last of which was as Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Learning from 2009 to 2011—before completing her work at the University in 2013. Having collaborated with several national and international organizations, her contribution to the University was acknowledged during the ceremonies in her over 40 lectures, publications, and major research reports in areas such as urban health, dengue control and prevention, HIV and AIDS control and prevention, at-risk youth development, research-based governance, and program and process evaluation. After retiring from DLSU, Dr. Marco has continued to pursue research at SDRC, to improve access to quality sexual and reproductive health (SRH) programs for women with disability in the Philippines via the W-DARE project funded by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (formerly AusAID) and the UNFPA.
