Procedures for IS with Pending Visa Application at the Bureau of Immigration
The Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) mandates that foreign students who wish to study in the Philippines should have a valid visa for study (please refer to E.O. 285). In compliance with this Order, DLSU, through the International Center shall not issue a Clearance for Confirmation to incoming international students (IS) without valid and updated visa for study. If the visa of the international student is currently being processed at the BI, the following procedures shall apply:
- The student shall present to the International Center a copy of the BI Official Receipt of visa processing and a Certification of Pending Application from the BI. A copy of BI application form for Certification of Pending Application can be downloaded at this link:
- IC Officer shall issue a Waiver and Declaration to Submit Lacking Visa Document to the student who may use said waiver form as a DLSU Gate Pass if his/her DLSU ID is tagged/regulated due to pending visa requirements.
- If the student fails to submit the required visa for study on or before the due date stipulated in the Waiver and Declaration to Submit Lacking Visa Document, IC shall recommend for the cancellation of student’s enrollment. Refund of tuition and fees shall follow the schedule of refund based on the University Calendar of Activities posted on the DLSU website at this link:
