Students receive awards in NMUN Germany 2023

Members of the DLSU team who participated in the NMUN Germany 2023 held from November 20 to 24, 2023  in Erfurt, Germany won awards, including four Outstanding Delegation Awards and a special mention. 

The delegation was composed of Theresa Enrica Limgenco and Mark Carlos Imperial representing Belarus, Julianne Grace Aspillaga and Prince Jay Ramos representing Colombia, Eryca Mei Sulian and John Churchill Dizon representing Greece, and Phoebe Nicole Maniquis and Cyryll Jay Obeles representing Poland.

Gaye Justinia Delos Santos was the team’s head trainer and was supported by the other trainers: Xybastian Trinidad, Arrabela Lumanglas, Yedda Bueno, Julean Palpallatoc, Josue Venida, and Misha Lirios.

Political Science and Development Studies faculty member Allen Surla served as the team’s adviser. 

NMUN Germany 2023 was participated by more than 400 delegates and faculty from 60 universities and colleges including some ivy league schools in the US. The conference was held at the Erfurt Rathaus (City Hall) in the capital city of Erfurt in the Free State of Thuringia in central Germany. 

This is DLSU’s 15th NMUN conference since 2014, and have so far won in all conferences – 9 Outstanding Delegation Awards (Gold), 3 Distinguished Delegation Awards (Silver), and 6 Honorable Mention Awards (Bronze).

NMUN is the world’s largest simulation of Model United Nations. University students from all over the world step into the shoes of diplomats and propose resolutions addressing disarmament, regional conflicts, peacekeeping, human rights, women and children, economic and social development, and the environment.
