DLSU Law Students Finish 3rd Runner-Up in National IP Law Quiz Competition

A team of three students from the De La Salle University Tañada-Diokno School of Law (DLSU-TDSOL) bag the 3rd runner-up title in the IP Circle League’s “The Quiz,” a national inter-school competition organized by the IP Academy held at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) on the 26th of October 2023.

The IP Circle League’s “The Quiz” is a knowledge and skills competition aiming to enrich the learning experience of students by showcasing the scope of the intellectual property system in the Philippines and covering the core areas of intellectual property law (i.e., copyright and related rights, patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and utility models). This competition was participated in by over 30 students from various universities and colleges across the country.

The DLSU-TDSOL Team, composed of Urika Loi Mendoza, Danielle Marie Bautista, and John Mari Emmanuel De Ocampo, who are members of the DLSU Law Moot and Debate Society (LAMDES), was one of the top five teams with the highest scores to emerge from the preliminary round and qualified to compete in the final round, where they finished as the 3rd runner-up.

This victory is the product of the team’s unwavering dedication and diligent efforts in mastering the Philippine IP Laws under the guidance and tutelage of their coach, Atty. Anthony Peralta.

Participating in this competition allows law students to strengthen their understanding of the Philippine IP laws while also becoming acquainted with current events and other related issues in the IP field. The DLSU is proud of its students’ accomplishments and continues to encourage them to participate in co-curricular activities that promote holistic development, which will be beneficial in their future legal careers.
