The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation of DLSU sponsored the participation of SDRC PhD apprentice Mark Anthony Velasco in the Summer School for Social Science Methods organized by the International Political Association (IPSA) and the Political Science Department of the National University of Singapore (NUS), held at NUS from June 29 to July 11, 2014.
According to Mr. Velasco, the methods school provided a great opportunity in terms of the courses it offered, which the IPSA-NUS website describes as being focused both on theory and practice of social science research, and on providing high quality training in diverse, state-of-the-art methods and techniques, by outstanding and highly experienced international faculty. Moreover, he shared that his attendance in the training allowed him to enrich his dissertation and to broaden his horizons in the conduct of social science research.
He is scheduled to relay his experiences in the methods school with SDRC research fellows and staff during the second term of the current academic school year.
