The DLSU-Manila Culture and Arts Office (DLSU-M CAO) serves as the culture and arts hub for DLSU-Manila’s in-house talents. It houses seven (7) performing groups namely, the La Salle Dance Company Street, La Salle Dance Company Contemporary, Lasallian Youth Orchestra, DLSU Chorale, Harlequin Theatre Guild, and the De La Salle Innersoul.

To ensure smooth operations of its services, aside from the CAO Staff, it has two (2) student support groups namely, the Green Media Group (GMG) and the CAO Student Artist Managers (CAO-SAM). GMG provides the media support for all the in-house talents while CAO-SAM takes care of the processing of the performance request services.

Reminders

Requests are honored only:
if received at least TWO (2) weeks before the performance date,
if the client gives the program details together with the request, and
if this form is completely filled up.
The CAO performing groups reserve the right not to grant the request on the day itself if there are any changes on the agreements during the production meeting not communicated three (3) days before the event.

 Terms and Conditions for Requesting a Culture and Arts Group

  1. The requesting party is not guaranteed any action on requests filed less than two (2) weeks before the performance date. In such cases, a letter addressed to the Director should be attached stating the cause for delay of filing and activity summary for the performance request.
  2. All requests should be coursed through the Culture and Arts Office (CAO). Requests coursed outside the office’s procedures will not be honored by CAO. The office will not take any repsonsibility towards the Culture and Arts Group or the Client.
  3. The Performance Request Form (PR-1 Form) should be filed in duplicate as stated in the guidelines for filing performance request. One (1) form for every group requested. (Those who plan to request for more than three (3) groups to perform in one (1) event must submit a project proposal to the CAO Director along with the PR-1 forms and the approved A-1/A-2 form).
  4. A Talent Manager assigned to the requested CAO group shall contact you for a production meeting if there is no conflict in schedule of the requested group. If you requested for more than one (1) CAO group, there is a possibility that more than one (1) Talent Manager will be contacting you and that you have to attend to more than one (1) production meeting. A production meeting does not guarantee a granted request.
  5. The requesting party must have only one (1) contact person who is involved and knows everything about the arrangements made within the production meeting. If ever, another person is assigned to attend the production meeting, the assigned person shall take responsibility in making sure that what was discussed during the meeting will be communicated to the contact person. Arrangements made within the production meeting will have to be strictly followed.
  6. Requests should be followed up after five (5) working days from CAO. Requests received on Monday morning shall have its status confirmed Friday afternoon; requests received Monday afternoon shall be confirmed Monday morning.
  7. After following up your request via phone or in person, you will receive either the confirmation form (PRC-1 form) or the performance denial form (PRD-1 form) from the office, depending on the status of your request. If you don’t receive any PRC-1 or PRD-1 form that would mean that your request has a pending status. It is neither granted nor denied. A PENDING status would mean, your request is still being processed. The Talent Manager is still waiting for the response of the group.
  8. If granted, you will be asked to accomplish an evaluation form on your requested group’s performance which, will be coursed through the group’s Talent Manager. Kindly make sure that you fill this up to help us improve our performance request service.
  9. The requesting group can only make last minute changes and/or requests at least three (3) days before the date of performance.
    1. In case(s) where there are changes (i.e. time and venue), the Talent Manager of the requested performing group should be informed at least three (3) days before the performance. If this is not complied with, the requested group has the option to automatically cancel the performance. In cases where the new time is in conflict with a previously granted performance request, the initial commitment will be given priority.
    2. In case(s) of special request(s) (i.e. change in song, choreography, or musical repertoire), which comply with the time requirement, the group still has the option to not grant these requests.
    3. In case(s) of postponement or cancellation, the Talent Manager of the requested performing group should be informed with a written letter at least three (3) days before the performance. If this is not complied with, the requested group has the option to automatically cancel the performance.
    4. In cases of fortuitous event (e.g. typhoon or earthquake), kindly inform the Talent Manager as soon as possible, together with a letter of intent to re-schedule a performance request. In cases where the new time is in conflict with a previously granted performance request, the initial commitment will be given priority.
  10. The performing group has the option to automatically CANCEL the performance if there are any changes (e.g. venue, date, time, etc.) without the requesting group informing the Talent Manager at least three (3) days before the performance.
  11. The performing group has the option to make an encore performance.
  12. A ban on all culture and arts group (CAG) activities and performance request(s) shall take effect seven (7) days prior to the start of final examinations until the last day of final examinations.
