LAWREC An adult formation program for College of Law students consisting of two one day recollections for first year and second year students (LAWREC1 and LAWREC2) and two overnight retreats for third and fourth year students (LAWREC3 and LAWREC4). The program started on AY 2010-11 with the first sections undergoing the LAWREC1 for first year students.
LAWREC1 emphasizes reconnecting with God amidst the challenges and difficulties posed by the demands of law school. The activity aims to help the first year law students towards a spiritual renewal through meaningful group and individual activities.
LAWREC2 highlights reconnecting with God through moments of reflection, silence, listening, sharing and laughter. It also aims to help them be aware of God’s presence in their joys, struggles, hopes and aspirations as law students
LAWREC3 focuses on reconnecting with God through contemplation. It aims to help deepen the law students’ spirituality through a contemplative approach of the scriptures. It also introduces the students to the Lasallian Reflection Framework. The framework aims to help them make well-discerned decisions based on the scriptures and the Lasallian values.
LAWREC4 utilizes the Lasallian Reflection Framework as the basis for its contents and activities. The framework hopes to help them reflect and discern based on the scriptures and Lasallian values. It may include an immersion experience with a target community.
