About Us
The Lasallian Pastoral Office contributes to the realization of DLSU’s vision by providing opportunities for faith and spiritual development and by creating venues where the life and charism of St. John Baptist de La Salle are promoted in order to continuously inspire the members of the academic community to be achievers for God and Country.
All college students in the University go through the retreats and recollections offered by LSPO. Faculty members, non-teaching staff, maintenance and security personnel and other members of the DLSU community are also given the opportunity to develop and sustain their faith-life through relevant formation programs and meaningful liturgical celebrations.
The office is supported by a group of youth ministers known as the Student Lasallian Animators. The special formation and training they receive while serving their fellow students and the academic community develops them to be effective youth ministers.
The Different Ministries
Worship and Animation Ministry: Takes charge of the liturgical and para-liturgical activities of the community. This ministry provides the members of the University with opportunities for spiritual nourishment and growth. It also handles a pool of Liturgical Ministers such as Liturgical Choirs, Lectors and Commentators, Ministers of the Special Eucharist and Altar Servers.
Retreat & Recollection Ministry: Handles the LASARE1, LASARE2 and LASARE3 courses. It also designs and develops retreats and recollections for student organizations and other sectors of the community, particularly the contracted workers of the University.
Pastoral Formation and Action Ministry: Provides programs and activities which aim to help the members of the Lasallian Family in DLSU to deepen their understanding of what it means to be a Lasallian and to better appreciate its rich heritage. It is also in-charge of the retreats and recollection of the adult members of the community.
