User Guide

Using the Wireless Presenter

  • Turn thin client ON by pressing the power button once.

  • Eject the USB receiver from the wireless presentation remote.

    Note: The USB receiver is located at the bottom of the wireless presentation remote. To eject, push the USB receiver and pull on snap.

  • Plug the USB receiver into the thin client USB port.

Important:After use, unplug the USB receiver from the thin client and attach it securely back into the wireless presentation remote.

Using the Projector

A. With Thin Client and Remote Control

Turn the main projector switch ON

    • Turn thin client ON by pressing the power button once.

    • Shut down the computer after your session. Aim the remote control at the projector and turn it OFF by pressing the power button twice.

B. With Thin Client and Virtual Remote Control

If you do not have a remote control, you can use the Virtual Remote Tool software installed in the thin client.

 

    • Turn thin client ON by pressing the power button once.

      When Windows starts, the Virtual Remote Control will be displayed.

      If it doesn’t, double click the Virtual Remote Tool icon on the desktop.

      If it gives you a message that says “A connection could not be verified for any projector”, press the Reconnect button until it connects.

      To hide the Virtual Remote Control, right click the Virtual Remote Tool icon at the notification bar of your desktop and select Hide Remote Control.

  • After use, click the OFF button of the Virtual Remote Control twice.

C. With a Laptop and Virtual Remote Control

Note: A VGA cable is necessary.

    • Turn thin client ON by pressing the power button once.

      When your OS starts, the Virtual Remote Control will be displayed.

      If it doesn’t, double click the Virtual Remote Tool icon on the desktop.

    • Turn the laptop ON.
    • Click the Computer 2 button of the Virtual Remote Control.

      If it gives you a message that says “There is no response from the projector”, click OK and press the Computer 2 button until the desktop is displayed.

      If the projector does not display anything, or only displays the DLSU logo, set the laptop into Dual Display Mode by pressing the display function keys on your laptop. To know the display function key combination for your laptop, refer to the table below.

Using the Speakers

  • Turn the main speaker switch ON.

  • Check whether the audio cable is properly connected to the headphone/speaker port of the thin client (or laptop). The headphone/speaker port is located at the front of the thin client.

  • Check whether the audio cable is properly connected to the Audio/Video output plate (A/V plate). The Audio/Video output plate (A/V plate) is located at the left or right side of the containing cabinet.

  • Turn the main speaker switch OFF after use.

Accessing your personal folder in the DLSU Network

  • On the Desktop, double-click the ‘My Network Folder’ icon.

  • On the window that appears, select your college from the drop-down menu. Supply your MLS user name and MLS password.

  • You will be prompted if you have successfully connected to your network folder. Click on OK.

  • A window showing your network folder will now appear.
    Note: You may also access your network folder by going to ‘My Computer’ and double-clicking Drive Z.

Important: Please do not forget to shut down the computer after your session. Otherwise, your network folder and the files contained in it may be accessible to the next user.

Files saved in the thin client will automatically be deleted upon reboot. If you need to present the same file on a different session, you may save your file to your personal folder in the DLSU network instead. With an active My.LaSalle account, you may access your network folder through the thin client.
