AusAID Provides Grant for Scholarship and Financial Assistance Study
The Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), together with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), has commissioned the Social Development Research Center to conduct a “Comprehensive Study on Scholarship and Financial Assistance Program in the Philippines.” Headed by Dr. Roberto E. Javier, Jr. of the Psychology Department, the research team seeks to evaluate the current system of financial assistance programs funded by the Philippine government. The evaluation will focus on the effectiveness, efficiency, and equity of the programs. These indices (the 3 Es) will be analyzed within the ambit of the delivery of the programs, maximization of government resources, and the access and availability of the programs. Assessment data will be encoded and organized through a management information system (MIS) and wil l be analyzed for policy implications. The end goal of the assessment is to formulate policy recommendations for the comprehensive and integrated (Post-basic Education Scholarship and Financial Assistance Program (PESFAP).

Guadalupe Salanga and Dr. Homer Yabut of the Psychology Department; Dr.Mitzie Irene Conchada of the DLSU School of Economics, and Mr. Oliver Malabanan of the Information Technology Department of the College of Computer Studies.
