Sr. System Administrator

Qualifications:

1. Graduate with a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Multimedia Arts, Fine Arts, or any related field
2. At least 2 years of relevant experience
3. Knowledgeable of software which the Information Technology Services Office uses
4. Knowledgeable of UNIX/Windows OS/Linux, basic concepts of data communications and networking, and operating systems concepts
5. Preferably, knows basic system administration, scripts (Bash, VBS, PERL), and computer setup and configuration

Job Description/Summary

1. Coordinates with and recommends to the Coordinator matters plans, improvements, and performance of manpower, operations, network, hardware, software, and budget
2. Submits and updates long-term and short-term plans of the group
3. Plans and reviews with the TIM Coordinator the annual budget for the group
4. Ensures security of servers, network, and Internet infrastructure
5. Ensures network security in close coordination with the Server Management Section, Network Management Section, and Help Desk Group
6. Reviews, updates, and implements IT security policy in coordination with ITS groups and, when applicable, other University offices/departments
7. Ensures that the backup strategy is implemented and regularly reviewed for improvement
8. Monitors the campus network and, if any, the wide area network connections to the different DLSU System schools
9. Recommends Server Management Section needs regarding hardware, software and training to the Coordinator
10. Performs other duties and responsibilities analogous, germane, or related to and/or implied from the above enumeration of duties and responsibilities.
