GCOE Prof Elected Head of the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers

DLSU Gokongwei College of Engineering’s Full Professor Dr. Nathaniel Dugos was inducted as the national president of the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) last September 8, during the 20th Asian Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering Congress and 84th PIChE National Convention. 

PIChE is the country’s premier organization of chemical engineering professionals, with about 1,800 members registered under its many chapters located all over the country.  

Dugos is an ASEAN Engineering Professor and Research Fellow, and holder of the Tan Yan Kee Foundation Professorial Chair in Chemical Engineering  as well as  the Carlos Palanca Sr. Professorial Chair in Production Engineering Management. He is  head of GCOE’s  Tissue Engineering Laboratory. 

Meanwhile, another faculty member from the department, Dr. Vergel Bungay, was elected as national treasurer of the Institute. During the convention, University Fellow and former GCOE Dean, Dr. Servillano Olaño, Jr., was awarded President Emeritus.
