ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This is a half-a day webinar workshop on qualitative and quantitative research methods. Specifically designed for neophytes (students and faculty members) and budding social science researchers, this webinar workshop aims to help familiarize participants with both traditional and non-traditional research methodologies that are being used to study human behavior. Special emphasis will be given to methodologies/techniques that can be applied when conducting research via the internet (e.g. online ethnography, online FGDs, etc.).
At the end of the session, the participants should be able to:
- Familiarize the essential characteristics of both qualitative research and quantitative research;
- Differentiate qualitative research from quantitative research;
- Evaluate the appropriate method to utilize in relation to the research problem; and
- Construct items or questions for qualitative and quantitative research instruments.
