DLSU Green and Lady Fencers secure three more medals to cap off S86

The De La Salle University (DLSU) Green and Lady Fencers capped off their UAAP Season 86 campaign with more medals at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), March 17, at the Quadricentennial Pavilion (QPav).

Green Fencers

The DLSU Green Fencers closed out their Season 86 campaign with a place on the podium, finishing in 2nd place overall with a 1–2–3 record.

Men’s Foil Team

The Men’s Foil Team faced another tough challenge against the reigning champions, the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors, as they valiantly battled against their formidable opponents, led by Collei Felipe. Despite their best efforts, Dion Gonzales, Reindelle Lacerna, Marion Gamila, and Enzo Mercado had to settle for the Silver medal, with a final score of 31–45.

Women’s Epee Team

On the other hand, the Women’s Epee Team also faced a daunting opponent in the UE Lady Warriors as the former couldn’t clinch the gold for their squad. Despite the leadership of Jhon Neri and the skills of Jholan Villapando, Cyrra Vergara, and Krupskaya Ednilag, the Lady Fencers also bagged the Silver, concluding the match with a 37–42 scoreline.

Women’s Sabre Team

Wrapping up the match day, the Women’s Sabre Team added another medal to cap off their Season 86 campaign with a 0–2–2 record. Comprising Vergara, Jastine Sotto, Mharla Ortula, and Aleah Aala, the Sabre Team secured the Bronze in yesterday’s thrilling final match.

The DLSU Green and Lady Fencers close their Season 86 campaigns with exceptional performance. While both teams fell short of their ambitions in securing the Gold, the intense battles on the fencing strip showcased the remarkable skill and determination of both the Green and Lady Fencers, which opens a promising start for future tournaments.
