Climate Change Study Enters Partnership with City of Sta. Rosa
Members of the research team for the SDRC project “Adapting to Climate Change in Peri-Urban Southeast Asia” visited the office of Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas of the city of Santa Rosa in Laguna for a contract signing on February 7, 2013 to establish a partnership for the study’s implementation. The three-year project is being funded by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) through a grant from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada. It aims to assist city administrators in developing their capacity to prepare and plan for climate change-induced water stresses such as floods, water shortages and water pollution/contamination.
Signing on behalf of the study was project director Dr. Antonio P. Contreras, who heads the team composed of research associate Alexie Basileyo and enumerators Chermaine Anne Gonzalez, Jan Claudine Cabigunda, Shalom Christian Gaerlan, Kristine Leir Aberladro, Joemarie Flojo, and Lexie Day Flores.
