APISA Best Paper Award

A paper co-authored by members of the DLSU Department of Political Science and Development Studies Department recently won the Best Research Paper award given by the Asian Political and International Studies Association (APISA), in partnership with the Rosenberg Institute for East Asia of Suffolk University in Boston. 

APISA, a leading academic organization in Asia dealing with political and international studies, gave the award  during the 17th annual APISA conference held at the Warmadeka College in Bali, Indonesia last June 29-30. 

Dr. Francisco A. Magno, DLSU full professor, and Yasmin Abdurahim Tagorda, PhD candidate, won for their paper titled “Unveiling the local turn in Peacebuilding: Exploring the roles and contributions of Bangsamoro civil society organizations in Mindanao peacebuilding for the common good.” 

The paper was presented in the conference, which carried the theme of “Towards New Modalities of Governance in Asia: E-democracy, Civil Society, and Human-Centered Policymaking.” 

During the award ceremony, Tagorda represented the co-authors in receiving the top prize from Dr. Roberto Dominguez, professor of International Relations and senior fellow of the Rosenberg Institute at Suffolk University, who served as the chair of the selection panel.
