What is the Star Scholars Program?
The Star Scholarship Program is an innovative program that is offered to high achieving first year undergraduate students from around the country. This premier scholarship program features an integrated model that supports students through both undergraduate and graduate academic degree programs.
The Star Scholarship Program combines the prestige and the scope of a competitive benefits package.
Students selected for the program have the unique opportunity to continue and earn a master’s degree or go into medicine proper (for BS Human Biology students) after finishing their undergraduate degree at the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSM-HSI), or enroll in the Tañada-Diokno School of Law (TDSOL) on full scholarship at no obligation to the scholars.
What are the benefits of a Star Scholar?
A Star scholar receives a 100% waiver on tuition, miscellaneous, and laboratory fees throughout their stay in the University.
Effective AY 2025-2026, a Star scholar will receive a monthly stipend of Eighteen Thousand Pesos (Php18,000.00) to cover accommodation, meals, transportation and communication, school supplies and other school-related expenses.
STAR scholars who participate in an international exchange program are eligible for a one-time cash grant not exceeding Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Pesos (Php250,000.00), which can be availed during the tenure of their undergraduate academic program.
Other special privileges include personal laptop, individual mentoring by a University Fellow, enhanced Achieving through Integrated Mentoring (AIM) Program conducted in coordination with the Office of Student LIFE (to ensure the maximum development of their potentials and offers a support mechanism to facilitate their psychosocial well-being, professional development, and academic and intellectual engagements among others), advanced enrollment, option to enroll in six units of any foreign language course offered in the University, and waiver of graduation fees and alumni membership fees.
How can one be a Star Scholar?
Applicants who excel and rank among the top examinees in the DLSU College Admission Test are invited for further screening, where a University committee assesses their qualifications and determines the final recipients.
