Discipline Education
The SDFO Discipline Education, Advocacy, and Programs Section (DEAPS) holds regular Discipline Lectures and Orientations for students and other University stakeholders including parents, faculty, staff, and personnel. In addition, the SDFO produces and disseminates different discipline education materials such as posters, guides, leaflets, online publications, and other media. Through these activities, the SDFO raises awareness and appreciation of University rules and regulations.
You may download a copy of the LPEP Discipline Lecture and other discipline education materials at the Downloads page.
Discipline Advocacy
The SDFO DEAPS also spearheads various advocacy activities ranging from government-mandated anti-drug initiatives, non-violence campaigns, and policy awareness programs. Annual events include the Discipline Formation Month (DFM), Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week (DAPC), the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT), among others.
Formation Program on Restructuring and Managing the Self (FORMS)
The Formation Program on Restructuring and Managing the Self (FORMS) aims to equip students with self-management and self-regulation skills, with the goal of bringing about behavioral change among participants. It is a modular program where students learn techniques and principles to pinpoint, understand, and modify undesired behavior. The program covers both undergraduate and graduate students.
Strengthening Attitudes Through Values Enhancement and Development Education Program (SAVED)
The Strengthening Attitudes Through Values Enhancement and Development Education Program (SAVED) is a formative intervention program that focuses on life skills development, values and attitude enhancement, and character formation. Students referred to the program undergo group and individual sessions, guided by the principles of Lasallian Formation, the Lasallian Reflection Framework, and Learner-centered Pedagogy. Through this program, the SDFO hopes to help students become mindful, responsible, resilient, morally upright, and reflective thinkers.
SDFO Clear-Up Drive
The SDFO Clear-Up Drive is an ongoing initiative to promote cleanliness and orderliness inside the University by ensuring that students do not leave personal belongings unattended. It aims to eradicate losses of personal items and to provide all students equal access to campus facilities. The Clear-Up Drive is a collaborative effort between the SDFO, Security Office, and the Building and Grounds Maintenance Office.
Lost and Found Services
Students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other members of the University may turn over or recover lost and found items at the SDFO Lost and Found and Clearance Section (LFCS). The LFCS also ensures the proper use of campus lockers, regulates the use of sharp objects for instructional purposes, and processes discipline clearances.
Case Conference with Students and Parents or Guardians
For minor offenses, case conferences serve as the SDFO’s opportunity to explain the alleged violation to the student as well as the policy’s importance and implications. In addition, the unit strives to develop a close partnership with the parents or guardians of students with two (2) or more minor offenses. Parents and guardians are implored to take a proactive role in guiding and reminding their children to follow University rules and regulations.
Student Discipline Formation Board (SDFB) and University Panel for Case Conferences (UPCC)
The Student Discipline Formation Board (SDFB) and the University Panel for Case Conference (UPCC) guarantee students’ right to due process. Students with alleged major cases are referred to the SDFB by the University Legal Counsel when charges are either fully denied or partially or qualifiedly admitted or to the UPCC when charges are completely admitted. In all proceedings before these adjudication bodies, the presence of a Student Representative is an indispensable requirement.
