Plan your COP28 Climate Change Education Event

Are you planning an event on climate change education at this year’s COP28?

Events on climate change education are invited to be part of the COP28 Greening Education Pavillion, hosted by the UAE Ministry of Education in partnership with the Greening Education Partnership – secretariat at UNESCO.

An open call for side-event proposals on greening schools, curriculum, teacher training and education systems’ capacities and communities is open now through Friday, 8th September 2023.

International Green Skills Conference

The UK Department for Education and Times Higher Education are delighted to host the International Green Skills Conference: Skills for a changing world at Imperial College London on Thursday, 28th September 2023.

The interactive agenda will explore the breadth of opportunities for green skills and green career pathways within a global context and provide opportunities to learn from and collaborate with other educators, learners, employers and policy-makers.

Together, we will explore how best to ensure our global economy has the skills to deliver greater productivity, whilst also supporting the transition to net zero, the restoration of biodiversity and a sustainable future.

Let’s Avoid Greenwashing:
Green Marketing Challenge Launched

UNEP is delighted to announce the launch of the Green Marketing Challenge. Developed by UNEP, and the UNSSC in partnership with the One Planet Network Consumer Information Programme, this challenge will help you to identify how well you are able to assess which green claims are more likely to promote sustainability and empower sustainable consumption decisions. This challenge is based on the ten principles of the “Guidelines for Providing Product Sustainability Information” developed by UNEP and the International Trade Centre (ITC).
  • Who is it for? All brands, marketing and communication professionals, as well as students.
  • How long does it take? 2 hours maximum.

MOCK Education Ministers Summit

As part of the recent Mock Education Ministers Summit, a Youth Statement on Quality Climate Education was published as a key outcome of the Summit. This is the work of 227 national youth delegates from 89 countries coming together to raise ambition for climate education over 2 days of learning, discussions and negotiations. You can watch back a number of the sessions over the weekend on Mock COP’s Youtube account. The statement represents the first ever unified youth definition of quality climate education, and a resulting set of clear asks.
