Nuncio Appointed SDRC Director Beginning Second Term
Dr. Rhoderick V. Nuncio of Departamento ng Filipino has been appointed Director of the Social Development Research Center beginning the second term of AY 2012-2013. Concurrently Director for Research & Advanced Studies at the College of Liberal Arts, Dr. Nuncio has previously served as Chair and Graduate Programs Coordinator of Departamento ng Filipino, and Director of the CLA Research and Publications Office. He is presently the Fr. William L. Hayes SJ Professorial Chairholder for Social Services, and his research interests are in Philippine culture and society, Internet studies, ICT for education, media literacy and critical studies.
In 2010, he was awarded the National Book Award in the Social Sciences category for his book Sanghiyang sa Mundo ng Internet published by De La Salle University and Vibal Foundation, Inc. Dr. Dennis Trinidad, who was Center Director from AY 2011-2012, leaves in October for a six-month fellowship at the Japan Institute of International Affairs, a private, nonpartisan policy think-tank based in Tokyo. |
