Job Description/Summary
The Safety Specialist is responsible for assisting the Director of the Safety Office in overseeing the department’s operations, implementation of policies and manuals, and is accountable for ensuring compliance with the safety and health standards and other laws pertaining/relating to safety and health.
Qualifications:
- A graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
- Preferably a DOLE-accredited Safety Practitioner or Safety Consultant
- Completed 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training from a DOLE-accredited Training Organization (ATO)
- Completed 48-hour Advanced/Specialized OSH Training in the education industry from a DOLE-accredited Training Organization (ATO)
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the education sector
- Ability to conduct training and seminars
- Advanced knowledge of RA 11058 and DO 252, series of 2025
- Familiarity with Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control (HIRAC)
