Guidelines for NAMFREL National HQ Volunteers (Mandaluyong City)

NAMFREL national HQ volunteers (Mandaluyong City)

  • Those who will sign up as NAMFREL national HQ volunteers in Mandaluyong City will be assigned to one of NAMFREL’s regional desks to coordinate the activities of NAMFREL provincial/city chapters located in each region. These regions are: Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, NCR, Visayas, and Mindanao.
  • Tasks would include following up and receiving election observation reports from the field. These reports will be submitted to NAMFREL HQ via email, Facebook Messenger, or Google Forms. Certain reports to be submitted by NAMFREL chapter volunteers are time-sensitive, as these observations will be used to write periodic public statements or press releases throughout election day and beyond.
  • HQ volunteers will also be asked to answer phone calls or emails from the public and other election stakeholders. They could also be asked to help out in other administrative work related to HQ operations.
  • NAMFREL national HQ volunteers will be divided into two shifts: day shift (6am-6pm), and night shift (6pm-6am). Of course, the availability of the volunteers will be respected; it is ok if they are unable to complete the shift due to studies or work.
  • NAMFREL HQ volunteers are also requested to work for at least three days to a week starting May 9. Day shift HQ volunteers for election day are requested to vote early so that they could report for duty as early as possible. Voting starts at 6am on May 9.
  • NAMFREL polling place volunteers — whose duty will be for election day only — are invited to serve in the national HQ throughout the remainder of election week.

NAMFREL volunteers are required to be non-partisan.

For those who will sign up as national HQ volunteers, it is likely that they will be met as a group via Zoom for a quick briefing before they report for duty.

However, NAMFREL HQ is currently already in need of HQ volunteers even before election day. If they have not signed up as volunteers online (www.namfrel.org.ph), they can just come to the NAMFREL office, sign up here, and even start working already. However, we would like to request if they could inform NAMFREL at least one day in advance before they come, so that the National Secretariat could ensure that there will be a place for them to work. NAMFREL currently has three rooms in the building where volunteers are working. The larger space that will serve as election HQ will not be up and running until starting May 3. NAMFREL encourages groups of friends and families to volunteer together for a more memorable experience.

NAMFREL national HQ volunteers will be provided meals while doing their work.
