About the DLSU Eco Car Team
The DLSU Eco Car Team aims to raise public awareness and encourage innovation in sustainable technology through the design and fabrication of fuel-efficient vehicles and demonstrate its practical potentials by participating in the annual Shell Eco-marathon Asia competition. This event challenges student teams to develop vehicles that would go the furthest distance while consuming the least amount of fuel through the skillful utilization of mechanical and electrical principles and concepts as well as of fuel-saving strategies.
About the Shell Eco-marathon
The Shell Eco-marathon is an annual competition that challenges students from all around the world to put into practical application their knowledge of science, technology, and engineering by developing ultra-efficient vehicles. High School and College teams from all around the world gather in the different events held throughout the year to see who would develop the car that could run the greatest distance while using the least fuel. The event has expanded to include a race among the record-setting cars and a demonstration of student-built autonomous vehicles.
