6th National Natural Language Processing Research Symposium

The 6th National Natural Language Processing (NLP) Research Symposium will consist of a whole day forum on the first day and a morning workshop on the second day. This year’s theme is “Knowledge Engineering and Management: Methods and Tools.”
There are two invited speakers for this event: Prof. Gerald Nelson and Mr. Adam Pease. Prof. Nelson is the project director of the International Corpus of English and is now with the Department of English in the Chinese University of Hongkong, while Mr. Pease is the principal consultant and CEO of Articulate Software, a consulting firm based in the San Francisco area. He and his colleagues provide development of custom ontologies based on open standards, including the Suggested Upper Merged Ontology (SUMO). He is a frequent speaker on formal semantics and the author of numerous papers on formal ontology, logical inference and linguistics.

Registration
Participants of 6th NNLPRS should register by sending their registration forms and proof of payment by fax or email to [email protected] with subject heading 6NNLPRS – registration. Participants can register as student or regular attendee. Your registration will be considered complete upon receipt of confirmation of payment to 6th NNLPRS.

The regular or student registration fees include entry to the invited talks, paper presentations, and workshops. A conference kit, lunch, and snacks are also included.
For student registration, please send a copy of your student ID card or a certificate from the institution as attachment to [email protected].
For group registration, please use one registration form per individual. However, the group may pay together using only one check. Just indicate in your e-mail communication (1) the names of each registrant, (2) the specific amount paid by each registrant, and (3) the total amount paid by the whole group.

Organizers
This symposium is organized by the Center for Language Technologies (CeLT) of the College of Computer Studies in De La Salle University-Manila, with the support of the Department of Science and Technology, Philippine Council for Advanced Science and Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCASTRD). The CeLT is created to support and promote research in the field of Natural Language Processing and Language Technologies. Research areas of the CeLT include NL understanding, NL generation, machine translation, information extraction, question answering, among others.
The center sponsors the symposium to cultivate awareness of the current trends in NLP, and explore technological advances in the field to cater to computer applications for languages.
