Dr. Ivan Gue graduated with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from De La Salle University. After graduating, he was employed as a research assistant for the USAID STRIDE project on microalgal biofuel and a project assistant for the project’s succession. During his employment as a research assistant, Dr. Gue assessed the life cycle of microalgal biofuels in the Philippines and underwent a training program at the University of Arizona. After his employment, Dr. Gue finished his doctorate degree at De La Salle University where he utilized machine learning models to recognize patterns in sustainable development issues, such as rule-based models for urban waste management and a novel neural network architecture for Circular Economy transition. His work garnered him the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the university. Currently, Dr. Gue is part of the faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and is the current Chairperson of the department.
