Originally from Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Dr. Ng moved to Manila for undergraduate studies, and specialized in hydraulics and water resources engineering, with a thesis entitled “An assessment of saltwater intrusion in Cebu City aquifers.” For his graduate studies, he took up theoretical physics with a thesis entitled “Optoelectronic properties of low-dimensional Dirac systems.”
