Engr. Miller D. Cutora

Assistant Professor

Educational Background

Master of Science in Civil Engineering
De La Salle University

Engr. Miller Cutora is an Assistant Professor and the Engineering Program Director at the School of Innovation and Sustainability (SIS) of the De La Salle University (DLSU) Laguna Campus. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering concurrently in 2015 from DLSU under the BS/MS Honors (Ladderized) Program. He was a recipient of DOST-ERDT Full Scholarship for his Master’s degree program. He is currently taking his doctorate degree in Civil Engineering major in Geotechnical Engineering in the same university. In his professional experience, he specialized in preparing slope stability designs and analysis of various Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Walls, ground improvement, scouring protections, and other earth structure solutions. He began his teaching career as a part-time faculty in the Department of Civil Engineering at DLSU in 2015. He later became a full-time Associate Professor at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) where he was appointed as the Chairperson of the Department of Civil Engineering. In 2022, he joined the SIS of DLSU as a full-time faculty. His research interests encompass soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering laboratory testing, geotechnical characterization of geo-materials by utilization of tailings and other waste materials; geosynthetics and limited life geosynthetics (geonaturals); numerical modeling; slope stabilization and ground improvement; and geotechnical profiling and mapping. He was a co-proponent of Geotechnical Mapping of Metro Manila Subsoil (GEMMMS) Project and currently a co-proponent of Dam Risk Management Decision Support Tool (DARMA) Project which are both funded by DOST-PCIEERD.
