Dr. Marla Maniquiz-Redillas, a licensed Civil Engineer and Professor at De La Salle University-Manila, devoted a significant portion of her research career to South Korea, where she spent a decade as a Brain Korea 21 graduate scholar and post-doctoral research fellow at Kongju National University. Her research interests include environmental engineering and water resources management particularly water quality, diffuse pollution and stormwater characterization and management in urban, agricultural, industrial and transport-related landuses using Low Impact Development (LID), Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) and Nature-based Solutions (NbS). She serves as Board Member of the International Water Association (IWA) Diffuse Pollution and Eutrophication Specialists Group and Editor of the Journal of Wetlands Research. She also served as Secretary of International Relations Committee of the Korean Society of Hazard Mitigation (KOSHAM). She has been awarded one of the Outstanding Young Scientists in the Philippines and a Special Citation in the Talent Search for Young Scientists by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST-PHL) and also received the Outstanding ASEAN Science Diplomat award. At present, She leads the Rainfall and Stormwater Runoff Management Technology for Tropical Climate (RainS-TECH) project, funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
