Dr. Erica Elice S. Uy has been serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at De La Salle University since 2018. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses and currently holds the role of Quality Assurance Representative for the department. Previously, she was the head of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) from 2019 to 2020 and is the coach for the Civil Engineering Society’s quiz bee team. Dr. Uy is also an active participant in numerous conferences both locally and internationally.

In 2018, Dr. Uy earned recognition as the Best Presenter at the 20th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. Additionally, she was awarded Best Paper at the Seventh International Conference on Geotechnique, Construction Materials, and Environment (GEOMATE 2017).

Dr. Uy graduated with Honorable Mention from De La Salle University in 2011, earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering. Her undergraduate research was distinguished with the Gold Thesis award. She received a two-year full scholarship from AUN/SEED-Net to pursue a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, from 2012 to 2014. Dr. Uy further advanced her studies with a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering, also specializing in Geotechnical Engineering, supported by the Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) Scholarship from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). Her doctoral research included a Sandwich Program at Nagoya University, Japan.
