Aileen Huelgas-Orbecido received her PhD in Environmental Engineering from Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. She joined Gokongwei College of Engineering of De La Salle University in 2010 where she served as Vice Chairman of the Chemical Engineering Department from 2014 to 2015. She has been teaching general engineering and major courses. Dr. Orbecido’s research interests focus on water and wastewater treatment and management. Her research accomplishments were presented in international conferences and also published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Orbecido has been a consultant of various projects funded by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and World Bank – DENR Environmental Management Bureau. During her corporate stint with GHD, she has been involved as water/wastewater engineer on several local projects whose clients include Manila Water Company Inc., Maynilad Water Services Inc., Balibago Water Services Inc., Aboitiz Land, among others.
