POBRE, ROMERIC F.
Prof. Romeric F. Pobre is a full-time professor in Physics Department since 2009. He is currently the coordinator of the graduate school in Physics. Prof. Pobre's research interest is in the area of medical instrumentation, ultrafast electromagnetic field studies, THz spectroscopy, optical trapping, electrostatic discharge analysis, resonant modulated electromagnetic field treatment, conservation science, computer simulations, and digital image processing. Prof. Pobre leads a team of 1 PhD student, 6 masteral students, and 25 undergraduate students under the Physics programs at DLSU. In 2005, he was awarded both a Visiting Scholar and Research Fellow at Institute of Laser Engineering, Osaka University, Japan in 2007 and Laser Research Center, Institute of Molecular Sciences, National Institutes for Natural Sciences, Japan in 2005 respectively. He is formerly the President of Samahang Pisika ng Pilipinas, a recognized national organization of physicists and physics educators in the Philippines. Besides his professional involvement with national organization, he is also a resource person in national government agencies as technical panel member in Physics at CHED (Commission on Higher Education) and regular technical panel member in Photonics and Optics of PCIEERD (Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development) for DOST (Department of Science and Technology).
