Jessica Joyce R. De Guia is a faculty member of the Department of Biology at De La Salle University. She obtained her Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Biological Science from Holy Angel University, Summa Cum Laude, and her Master of Science in Biology from De La Salle University-Manila. She is a Licensed Professional Teacher and has a specialization in teaching Biological science at the Secondary level. She worked on detecting intestinal helminths in Indigenous peoples (Aetas) and their domesticated swine for her master’s thesis. Her involvement as a research assistant was in determining parasites in an intermediate host such as snails. Her research interest deals with Parasitology, mainly on soil-transmitted helminths and zoonosis.
