Thaddeus M. Carvajal is a faculty of the Department of Biology under the College of Science at De La Salle University (DLSU). Dr. Carvajal received his Bachelor of Science and Masters in Biology from De La Salle University. He finished his Doctor of Engineering (Dr.Eng) from Ehime University, Japan. After his doctorate course, he was awarded to become a Research Fellow under the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) in the same university. Currently, he is a Balik-Scientist Fellow under the Philippine Council for Health and Research Development (PCHRD) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). Dr. Carvajal has a broad training and experience in research, teaching and extension. His research interest focuses on the vector biology, ecology and control of medically-important arthropods specifically in mosquitoes where he employs various approaches such as genomics, machine learning and nanotechnology in understanding their biology, ecology and its control. Furthermore, Dr. Carvajal is a seasoned professor with nearly 10 years of teaching experience in the tertiary level. He is also an active member of different scientific organizations (e.g. National Research Council of the Philippines, Philippine Society for Microbiology and many more) with some serving as an officer or board member.
