Mary Jessel Duque teaches art, literature, media, and popular culture courses at De La Salle University Manila. She earned her BA and MA in Creative Writing from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. Her essays and fiction have been published in local anthologies. She has won the Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prize in Art Criticism and has received fellowships from UST’s J. Elizalde Navarro Workshop on Criticism, the IYAS La Salle National Writers’ Workshop. She also won a fellowship to the Cultural Journalism Campus at Art Basel Hong Kong in 2019.
