Jazmin completed Doctor of Philosophy (Performance Studies) at the University of Wales/Aberystwyth University in the United Kingdom, where she was a Ford Foundation International Fellow. She has an MA in Theater Arts degree from the University of the Philippines Diliman and has worked as an actor and director. She also writes poetry in Bicol and English and is closely associated with the recent flourishing of Bicol Literature. Jazmin has spoken in various international conferences, has gained recognition for her work from leading international bodies in her field, and has published both locally and internationally. She was recently the Head of the National Committee on Dramatic Arts of the (Philippine) National Commission for Culture and the Arts (2014-2016) and continues to serve as Chair of the Research TWG of the NCCA. She is the convener of Performance Studies Philippines, a loose, independent network of Philippine-based academics, artists, and cultural workers in the field of performance. International engagements include being Vice President of Performance Studies international (PSi) (www.psi-web.org), where she is also co-convener of the After Dwight Conquergood working group, and serving as Associate Editor of Performance Research, (www.performance-research.org). At DLSU, she is Dean of the College of Liberal Arts.
