Dr. Ernesto Villaluz Carandang II is a Full Professor at the Department of Literature of De La Salle University (DLSU). He earned his Doctor of Fine Arts (DFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing at DLSU. His debut short story collection, Mga Kuwentong Lagalag (NCCA Young Authors Series, 2005), was selected and published by the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) for their project, Ubod Writers Series. He also authored two books: Lahi ni Adan (UST Publishing House, 2007) and Angkan ni Eba (UST Publishing House, 2005). He is also an associate in fiction at Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center of DLSU. He is a member of Language and Translation Committee of NCCA and Technical Panel for Philippine Languages of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). He is the founding and editor in chief of Luntian: Ang Journal para sa Malikhaing Akda ng mga Guro at Gradwadong Mag-aaral, and a contributor to major local and international newspapers, magazines and anthologies. He is the editor of BIN-I, New Theoretical and Critical Writings on Philippine Studies (UST Publishing House), Lasang Lasallian, isang Centennial Publication ng De La Salle University (Central Book Supply, Inc.), and Dadaanin, (Isandaang Dagli na may Isandaang Salita ng Isandaang Manunulat) na isa ring Centennial Publication ng De La Salle University (Anvil Publishing, Inc.). His edited anthology, Kaming mga Lasalyanong Guro, Mga Tinig sa 2401 Taft Avenue, a collection of essays by Lasallian teachers, was released in 2023. (DLSU Publishing House).
