MR. JOSE VICTOR D. JIMENEZ, an Assistant Professor, is former Vice-Chair of the Department of History at De La Salle University, where he has been teaching for nearly three decades. Mr. Jimenez holds an A.B. History from De La Salle University and M.A. History from the University of Santo Tomas. He is currently reading for his dissertation in the same discipline at the Pontifical University. He is a member of the Pi Gamma Mu, International Honor Society in Social Sciences, Philippines Beta Chapter, and a lifetime member of the Philippine National Historical Society (PNHS), Manila Studies Association (MSA), Philippine Historical Association (PHA), and American Studies Association of the Philippines (ASAP). His research interest lies in institutional history. He has written a history of De La Salle University, 1911-1941. He is currently engaged in a book writing project on the history of another Lasallian institution. In the realm of oral history, he supervised an oral history project on “The Student Life at De La Salle university, 1930-1945: An Oral History.” He was a co-principal investigator of the project on “Kahirapan at OFW Phenomenon: Pagdalumat sa Perspektibong Multidisciplinary,” (“Poverty and OFW Phenomenon: Conceptualizing from the Multidisciplinary Perspective”). He has served as an evaluator of textbooks and research projects. He has published in refereed academic journals and read papers in national and international conferences.
