Aileen Huelgas-Orbecido is a Full Professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering. Her research interests mainly focus on water and wastewater treatment and management. She has published around 60 Scopus-indexed papers with an h-index of 12. She is a principal investigator (PI) and co-PI of several externally-funded projects by international and national funding agencies. Dr. Orbecido received a special citation in 2022 National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) Environmental Science Award.
