Dr. Alma Maria Jennifer Gutierrez is an International Ergonomics Association (IEA) Fellow and the recipient of the Southeast Asian Network of Ergonomics Societies (SEANES) Educator Award 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. She is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at De La Salle University and an ASEAN engineer. Additionally, she serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Ascent Website and Online Repository. Dr. Gutierrez is also the conference chair of the Joint Congress of ACED-SEANES 2020, the Lead Editor of the ACED-SEANES 2020 Proceedings in Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing, and the president of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of the Philippines (HFESP). She has numerous publications in the Sustainability Journal, the International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics, and the International Journal of Aviation Psychology. Moreover, she has published a book chapter on Human Factors and Ergonomics in consumer product design under CRC Press Taylor and Francis Group. She has held various leadership positions at De La Salle University, including Department Chairperson of Industrial and Systems Engineering (AY 2016-2019; AY 2006-2007) and Vice-Chairperson (AY 2010-2012; AY 2003-2006). Dr. Gutierrez is also engaged in ergonomics consultancy through the Safety Productivity Enhancement through Ergonomics Development (SPEED) program for both government and private sectors.
