New SDRC Director Appointed
Dr. Dennis D. Trinidad, Associate Professor of the International Studies Department (ISD) of the College of Liberal Arts, has been appointed Director of the Social Development Research Center beginning AY 2011-2012.
Dr. Trinidad obtained his Ph.D. in Law from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. His research and teaching interests include Japan-Southeast Asia/ASEAN relations, Japanese politics, the political economy of East and Southeast Asia, the politics of economic reform, and development assistance.
Prior to taking on the directorship at SDRC, Dr. Trinidad was coordinator of the Japan Studies Program at the ISD. His articles have appeared in the Japanese Journal of Political Science, Asia Pacific World, Asian Perspective, and the Journal of Asia Pacific Studies. In 2010, he was awarded the Kiyoshi Osawa-Japan Professorial Chair in Philippine-Japan Relations at DLSU.
