Professional Profile:
Professor Raymund Sison is a University Fellow of De La Salle University (DLSU), where he has served as Dean of the College of Computer Studies (CCS) and, more recently, Dean of the Br. Andrew Gonzalez FSC College of Education (BAGCED). He is a recipient of the Outstanding Teacher award of the Metrobank Foundation and the Outstanding Young Scientist award of the National Academy of Science and Technology, and was founding president of the Computing Society of the Philippines. He holds a PhD in Computer Science (focusing on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and user modeling) from the Tokyo Institute of Technology and a PhD in Education (focusing on educational leadership and grounded theory development) from De La Salle University. These and his ministry with FORMDEV have led him to a scholarship of integrated engagement that lies at the nexus of learning, technology, and service. He has therefore conceptualized and spearheads QuERST (pronounced /kwerst/), a multi-stakeholder, multi-component, and multi-phase framework for rapidly improving the quality of education in resource-challenged schools with the help of technology.
