Professional Profile:
I’m a Distinguished Full Professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering, a University Fellow, and an Academician of the Philippine National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).
I work in the area of process systems engineering with applications to carbon management and process integration, and am the co-developer of the carbon emissions pinch analysis algorithm. I’m editor-in-chief of Process Integration and Optimization for Sustainability, an associate editor of Sustainable Production and Consumption, and an editorial board member of Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy and of Cleaner Engineering and Technology.
I have received multiple scientific awards from organizations in the Philippines, have been listed among the top 2% of scientists in the world since 2019, and am in the Reuters “Hot List” of the world’s 1,000 most influential climate researchers.
