About GraphTeX
- Donald Knuth’s type-setting computer program TeX was officially released in 1978. Knuth says that this is “intended for the creation of beautiful books -and especially for books that contain a lot of mathematics.”
- LaTeX was developed from TeX by Leslie Lamport in 1984. It is basically a set of TeX macros used to format documents.
- GraphTeX is a drawing package I developed for use with TeX or LaTeX. It is basically a set of TeX macros used to make drawings. GraphTeX has a 1994 Philippine copyright as well as a creative commons license. The most recent version of GraphTeX is graphtex 3.41.
- The original GraphTeX 1.0 was developed with research funding from DOST-PCASTRD. This was enhanced to version 2.0 in 2005 with funding from DLSU-URCO. Subsequent enhancements – versions 3.0, 3,1, 3,2, 3,3, 3.4, and 3.41 were done without any external finding. Version 1.0 has 55 macros (commands) while version 2.0 has 168 macros. The latest version, graphtex 3.41 has over 200 macros.
- The new macros in the versions higher than 2.0 can be found in the following links: Version 3.0 Notes ◦ Version 3.4 Notes ◦ Version 3.41 Notes.
