Mc Kyle Fantone Vilaz completed Research Master: Master of Advanced Studies in Theology and Religion (magna cum laude) at KU Leuven, Belgium, which included a European exchange programme at Durham University, UK. He also earned an Advanced (Postgraduate) Certificate in Adult Faith Formation from Fordham University, New York, USA. He has served in various capacities, including as a member of the KU Leuven Faculty Diversity Team (2023–2025), a contributor to Katekistang Malikhain: The National Catechetical Study 2021 PARI Project, and as a blind reviewer for a theological journal. 

His academic interests include post-secular (contemporary) religiosity and lived theology, faith discovery and choice in (dis)affiliation, religious education, Trinitarian theology and Christian praxis in Catherine LaCugna, relational theology, and Catholic social thought and the teaching vocation. 

He is presently a Lecturer at the Department of Theology and Religious Education at De La Salle University Manila.
