Dr. Alinsunurin is a Senior Research Fellow at the Angelo King Institute and an Associate Professor at the School of Economics, where he also serves as its Associate Dean. Before joining DLSU, he held primarily consulting appointments with the World Bank, the AIM KAS-RSN Policy Center, UNICEF, and the Asian Development Bank. He also spent a visiting period at Public Governance Institute at KU Leuven in 2019.

Dr. Alinsunurin teaches seminar courses primarily at SOE, such as Economics of Innovation (ECOINOV) and Industrial and Corporate Strategy (CORSTRA), plus introductory courses occasionally. In 2021, students nominated him for the Outstanding Teacher for the School of Economics.

Since 2017, Dr. Alinsunurin performed peer review work in several leading management and social science journals. He received outstanding reviewer awards from the Public and Non-Profit (PNP) Division of the Academy of Management (AoM), as well as the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory (JPART). Outside of school, he is passionate about learning the Italian language, cuisine, culture, and arts.

Research Interest

Dr. Jason does primarily interdisciplinary research work with a largely positivist yet policy-oriented approach. Currently, his portfolio looks at the drivers of educational achievement in the Philippines, the effects of automation in the labor market, the precarity, overeducation, and skills mismatch among workers, and the fragmentation of teacher markets, all using nationally representative surveys.
